Free Long Distance Calls - Home Based

Shopping for long distance service is not easy.  Few months ago, I wrote a review on the cheapest long distance in Canada when I found skype.

I love skype but it’s very inconvenient as I can’t make calls when I am on the go. If you are in sales, it’s not worth it. 

This month, I found telfund.  It’s a fairly new company and it offer some irresistable benefits I can’t ignore.

The company is based in the US but is entering Canada as I write this post.  It’s also a Network Marketing Company with an excellent compensation plan.  I will write another  post about the business later on, but for now, let’s look at the phone service provided by this company.

Telfund International (TFI)

Telfund is a Membership-based International communication  and Financial Services Company. Launched in March 2009.

It offers 3 types of membership.  Each membership type offers progressively cheaper calling, texting and money sending rates for over 40 currencies.

Benefits of Membership

What I like the most about this service is that each member have the ability to get credits for their referrals.  You don’t need to become a "Distributor" to get the credit. As a customer, you get credits everytime the people you refer make calls, text, or send money. 

You can use your credit to make long distance calls.  Essentially making the calls FREE. Who doesn’t like FREE!

The 4 types of membership:

• FREE member - get reduced long distance rates and money transfer.
• Basic member (9.99/month) - better long distance rates and money transfer.
• Basic Plus Member (14.99) - awesome rate and comes with unlimited calling within North America (US and Canada), plus only $5.00 money sending fee.
• Premium member (24.9/month) - the best rate with unlimited long distance call to 30 countries including Canada and US and money transfer fee is as low as $3.00

How low is their long distance rate?  I checked their rates from the 416 (Toronto) area code to 613(Ottawa)and it’s .019 per minute. That’s 1 cent.

 Why Do You Need A Membership Account?

Telfund International is a social network based company.  They reward  you for referring friends to the service. 

You also need to register the phone you are going to use for making the long distance calls.  You can switch from home phone to cell phone anytime- whatever is convenient.  Just log in and change the phone you want to use.

Then simply load your account when you need to make long distance call. This is more convenient than going out and buying a phone card or getting tied up in a long distance contract with your phone carrier.  Or worst, getting a huge bill for that emergency call you happen to make.

Use it when you need it.  No bills, no contract, no worries. 

Use it on the go. 

And they don’t call you - so don’t worry about telemarketing calls.  They have thousands of members so it’s unlikely they will call you for anything - they haven’t called me.
